I feel sort'a silly writing reports about the same old place each week, but here goes:
on Wed., my sister Jane and I had a tough slog up to my usual campsite at 3800 feet. Pole depth started out about 8 inches and got up to 18 inches in spots, and my poles have oversized powder baskets. Temps down to 13 deg. at night before the snow began.
Thursday we got up to the road bend at 4600 feet and decided that that was enough. The only good lines on the frontside at this point would have made me nervous. Snow was typical Cascade 'powder'. :) We skied the road back for a bit, and then tried a few of my favorite little slots through the trees. Wonderful! This was the first time since two years ago that they have been skiable.
