The only way to get sun on Douglas Island (Juneau) this time of year is to ski to the crest of the small range that slpits the Island.

Thursday morning with the first clear skies in a month we skied under the moon up to the sun for a 15-minute tanning session (anymore would destroy the rain-fed morale) before a nice freshies run through an alpine bowl and then down to the car through the closed local ski area.

Fluff-ilicious.

Cold snow with 8-inches of fresh-ish on top pf a 36-inch dense base from consistent minor snowfall. A little of this and a little of that from rain and wind buried within the snow, but remarkably stable in my severely under experienced opinion.

Not quite winter here yet, but the fall is going great.

Going back today with the crack-a-noon club. It's clear again.

Jimmyclimbs... long time no hear!!  You living up in AK now?

Today a few friends of mine are getting their first turns of the year (and hopefully it didn't take them too too long to drive to their various destinations... cuz it's snowing all over, including Seattle!!)  Almost two inches so far in West Seattle here.

I was hoping to go this weekend but came down with a nasty cold a few days ago  :(.. oh well, hopefully next weekend...

What's up heart attack! You living in the city these days? You getting out?

Shit dude, I've lived in four mountain ranges since we last got out together. This is pretty stoked up here though, the ice field in the back yard is 3200 square miles, the salmon is fresh and the snow is fresher. Could stay for a while. Oh and I got me a wife!

Be cool dude, send me a note and tell me what you're up to these days.

318 + 102 = ?
