Road to Paradise was closed today. At main entrance they said there was so much snow that the avalanche danger was so high they couldn't plow the road. ???
I was highly suspicious of this answer. >:(
When asked if they would be plowing and opening tomorrow the lady said "maybe". ???
To get some skiing we went to the MTTA trial on north side and skinned on logging road to Copper Creek Hut.
Snow on road from gate , but gate is 2 miles below snowpark. They are not going to open the gate until next week.
I must say that although pleasant enough, the park service staff seemed very vague about why the road was closed and what was going on.

Not in the "know" scotsman but I made a go at it as well. I was also peaved w/ their answer at entrance. What got my goat was the fact that wehn i called the phone msg line for road and weather cond. at 7am (reasonably late if you ask me) The recording was still from friday @ 2. This is unacceptable imo. Twould not be suprised if it all leads back to BUDGET....but the park staff can't comment on that >:( I hope someone gets to kill it when the gate and road are opened.
