Midweek trip to Naches for some mellow turns and sunshine. Best starting point is half a mile down 123 past the fork. They were bombing and plowing Chinook pass road as of yesterday - wouldnt expect it to open anytime soon.

Up to skiers summit by 10am. Nice view of Rainier + Adams. Great corn run down NE slope and then back up to the top. Dropped in to the west bowl on a narrow snow finger. Still a bit firm on the upper west bowl at 11am. Lunch at Tipsoo lake then back to the car.

Thanks for posting - was wondering what things looked like in the Chinook area. Can't wait for the road to open ðŸ˜ƒ

Thanks for the good TR. How far did you have to carry the skis before putting on the skins?

DuaneC  you can skin from your car.

Yep its skins on from the car/across from the pullout. There is still good coverage for this approach and believe it will have continuous snow for 2+ weeks - the Chinook pass road will probably be open once this no longer makes sense
