Mount Adams, South Climb zone
We skied up along the South Climb route on Mount Adams on Saturday, 6/17/23, and camped out for 2 nights around 7000 feet to the east of the route on a "land island" with trees. The weather on Saturday was warm, sunny and pleasant until late afternoon when it violently shifted to cold, with very high winds and then snow! The cold and snow remained Sunday-Monday, 6/18-6/19/23. Snow even fell at the level of the parking lot! The sun never really came out long enough to soften the snow so conditions were challenging. The amount of snow that fell at 7000-8000 feet was perhaps .5 inch at most, not a lot. The weather seems to be improving though this week and there is definitely sufficient coverage for skiing on the South Climb route (we did not get over to the SW Chutes). If the sun comes out it should be fun!
Smiling because we're skiing
