We had optimistic plans to explore some terrain beyond SK but were shut down by poor travel conditions. Isothermic snow from the snowline to the summit, wet slides, glide cracks, and crowns, and failing cornices pretty much everywhere you look on all aspects. Anyways, we approached via the Illabot and Otter Creek and had two nice nights bivying at Enjar lake. We had fun skiing the interesting, convoluted terrain on the nw side of the mountain and enjoyed traversing around the alpine and checking out various highpoints. Beautiful clear views from the summit. Pretty much every turn on anything over 25 degrees was starting a hisser, terrain managment was mucho importante. Hopefully this will help with weekend planning for someone.

A large cedar tree tree fell over the road while we were out blocking our exit from the Illabot. About 4 hours of "creative" tree disassembly and scrounging the forest for something resembling a rope eventually won us our freedom.
lots of condition prompted exploration

avalanches come in many forms

Well that was an adventure! I always “think” about bringing a chainsaw...
