Thanks you early risers for the skin track up to the base of upper International.  Perhaps 4 inches of promising-feeling powder at the lot and 6 to 8 at my turn around below the steep part of 'Nash.  It started misting a little at my transition and combined with my limited skiing skills, the downhill was not the killer powder experience I was hoping for.  There was a perceptible ?rain crust below that bonus pudding-pow.  Still, nothing to complain about for May 4.  I suspect if it was a lift served day I would be raving.  Lots of folks working their way up, mainly to Armstrong lift, mid-morning as I left.
Ahhh, the killer powder experience you were hoping for was on Upper Nash and Adrenaline. Two Gregs say it's so.

Yes they do.

;)

NICE!  Anyone know if alpy held good snow up high this afternoon?

^^ ???

you mean the pics didn't answer your question well enough?

Oh sorry Seatownslacky....  Thought the pics could have been taken in the morning before warming.  It is may!  Powder it is then!

I hit Alpy after work.  Skied Nash to the bottom of the Cascade Traverse and decided it was so good that I should do it again.  My second was just before 8pm, I freakin love long spring days after big May dumps.  It looked just like those pictures only with another 3-4 inches of fluff on top from a quick afternoon dump.  I even got a few face shots!  :D

It was snowing at the base when I left and raining on I-90 most of the way back to Seattle.  Tomorrow could be the things dreams are made of.  :)

Thanks for the TR!  I'm stoked to head out to the area next week.

Skinned up to source lake with JimH, then up Draft Dodger to the top of Stokes.  3 " of fluff on a suncrust with concrete below. Sun came out and the top 3" quickly became reactive to ski cuts, and on steeper, less supported rolls got it to step down through the suncrust. Just loose debris, but running pretty fast.  We quickly tiptoed out the car to folks BBQing in lot 4.  It skied better than expected with fat boards. Soft and steamy: like Dim Sum.

Careful out there over the next few days with the sun on the new snow.
