Plenty of skiing to be had in the North Cascades for a while yet! Accessed via Silver Star Creek. Ski carry was required until 5,000ft with a pretty clear trail in the early parts. No openings on the glacier proper. The summit boot pack was secure. We did watch an impressive D2-3 rock/wet snow slide take out an entire slope off Vasiliki ridge far away from our ascent route. This was probably triggered by rock fall from up higher, which should reinforce the continued need for cautious route finding in the Spring/early Summer.
thanks for the post. My wife and I are heading up to Washington Pass for two days of skiing. I hope the snow holds up for another week or so.
