Better late than never--thought I should post this for historical reference and beta. Two weekends ago (may 2-3), Patrick F and I skied the Wy'east face on Saturday, and on Sunday I attempted a solo circumnavigation of Mt Hood.

Saturday went well, and we skied Wy'east and Super Bowl in ideal spring conditions. For a full trip report with pictures, visit

Thanks for the report - that was a good read. The turns on the WyEast Face looked sublime! Also, great to hear a candid report of how things went wrong on the attempted circumnavigation, and glad you made it out OK. The report is probably helpful for anyone thinking of doing the same, and a good reminder to skiers like me of why those kind of routes are above my comfort/skill range.
