Christian and I left our nice motel in Cougar at about 4:20 am, drove (roads 91 - 83) up to 2200 ft and started skinning at about 5 am, following the standard route towards climber's camp. At ~3300 ft we left that road and turned north towards monitor ridge, which we followed to the crater rim (5 hrs). Snow was good corn, despite the very high temperatures. A bit sticky below tree line. We saw a few mountaineers but no other skiers.
In the evening we drove over to Trout Lake where we slept for a few hours before getting up at 1 am to ski Mt Adams (see report by raponchi from May 17th).
