Michele and I both agreed, at 8 am, that today the skis were just an excuse to get out of Seattle. At Snoqualmie pass, our hopes were not much higher - it was warm and soupy.
Half an hour later we were above the clouds, skinning up Kendal stump. Another hour at the top of kendall knob. Another hour and we were 'topped out' on the Kendall summit ridge - and the view, and the snow, was just about perfect. It felt like April and the corn was smooth. Better than on granite a few weeks ago.
The weather and the ski was unexpectedly delightful. We got back to the parking lot about 1 pm.
