Note: We found the road gated at White River Campground with sign posted that reads "Road Closed to Recreational Use". Proceed at your own risk of enjoyment...

Road is plowed all the way to the parking lot, and they are working to get the parking lot cleared with appx. 6' - 8' of snow on the ground.

We saw no other skiers but did see one set of tracks coming off of Burroughs Mtn. toward Berkeley Park. Snow on the east side of the Sunrise Ridge was pretty soft due to warm temps, but we found good snow and fun turns (inch or so of good corn on a solid base) on the steeper aspects on backside of the Antler Peak/ Dedge Peak ridge down toward Huckleberry Basin.

Great day Saturday, gorgeous night and more great turns Sunday morning. :)
Hey J.P.-
Did you hoof up the road or hoof and skin the switchbacks?
Thanks-Joe

Joe -  As part of our 2003 emphasis on multi-modal adventures we biked up to the last switchback before Sunrise Pt, then booted up onto the ridge/shoulder and into Yakima Park.  We found it easier to hike than skin in most areas.  One could bike the entire way although this was not known to us at the time of our ascent.

J.P.-
Thanks for the info.I have looked at that nearly everyday I drive by and think that we could bike then hike.
Great effort! Thanks for the info. I also thought of hiking the back way to Lake Eleanor and up to Grand Park, but that could be a long haul. I have some other trips in mind if you want to stay in touch.
Joe
