The sun was out on the webcam at The Pass so I assumed the moisture had cleared. I stopped by Alpental around 3pm and it was sunny and lightly drizzling. I decided to head up to Silver and arrived to high overcast. No one was around and I started skinning around 4pm. I followed some old tracks that followed the edge of the trees. The coverage is still continuous all the way to the upper basin/ridge. The sun peaked briefly and then the mist rolled in along with clouds which covered the upper ridge. Finally it began drizzling at the top and then a constant light rain. Yuck, I hate skiing in the rain even more than walking on dirt to ski. The snow is nicely consolidated and I skimmed along the very shallow sun cups which were soft. Excellent coverage along the entire route.
