Took advantage of the weather window for a light and fast Baker trip. A bit of new snow has made this route an excellent ski right now. No sticky pollen. Almost no suncups. There is a decent bootpack up the Roman Wall and things are still quite filled in. Though it seems pretty open skiers left of pumice ridge, I seem to recall in past years being able to do a more fall-line ski down the Roman Wall before popping over the ridge to the col and down, but my memory could be off.
I don't think Grouse Creek is in, I hiked the summer trail for a few miles before skinning.
It was a bit windy, which kept things quite firm and fast. 6:02 car-to-car which is a record for me.
Go get it when the weather gets good!
