Fun summer day in the Teanaway.

Started up the Iron Peak Trail and put skis on in less than a mile!.  From Iron saddle scrambled north up the south ridge of Teanaway Peak for our first great views of the "home hills".  My first day in the Cascades since mid April and it was great to be home.  N. Fk. Teanaway road in surprisingly good shape.

The ski off the SE side of Teanaway Peak down the big blaze was already sloppy and gloppy from direct sun by 10:30AM.

Searching for firmer snow we headed over to Mary's Peak 6640+ to ski the gentle open trees of the north slope of it.  It was a bit deep and heavy too but more consistent.  I'm thinking it was deep due to the late new snow hanging around on the north aspects being slower to consolidate.

To get back to the car and find perhaps one run on good corn we went to the top of Iron Peak and finally found decent corn snow off its west slopes, eventually traversing back to the trail at the point where we initially put the skis on.

"Good Times, boys"---to quote Matt at the end of the day.
Lots of snow above 5000 feet in the Teanaway for at least one more week.
In this heat west slopes seem to the the best bet for firm corn until further consolidation.
