The SE side of MR was our guess for some reasonably good weather.....we got to the TH at 9 AM and managed to get up to Whitman Crest (~9,350') by about 2 PM after a pleasant walk on the trail. The snow overall was great! The views were awesome...even saw a few mountain goats. The sun gods treated us well and we made back to the car at 5 PM with nary a drop of rain hitting us! We were the two that were skiing down as you were approaching the Crest......If I was looking at the same mountain goats, they were huge! Looked like a heard of white cattle...anyways, great day. June 4th and one of the best ski days of the year!
