Alpental uber alles! And certainly, Alpental uber Arbeit!
Headed up after quitting work a bit early. First scouted meltout on 9070 (see post in access links) and then returned for the known goods at Alpental. Could start skinning right from Das Kloh (Shot 10) using the Sessel run. Skinned up lower and upper I. Lower I's Mogulbumpen are mostly melted off to reasonable size except top section. Same thing upper I. Was originally going to stop at high traverse because rest of upper I not that nice lookin (moguls, slides, obvious glop) but what the hell figured may as well top out and have my Abendessen mit Bier on the patrol hut catwalk. Die Wolken were moving in such that got only peekaboo views of peaks.
Das Schifahren: Snow top part upper I - das war Hundescheisse - kind of unconsolidated glop with a little freeze on top. But about 400 feet down, once below high traverse entrance, got much more Gemutlich. Then, on Lower I, decent but dirty corn (my people call it .... Mais), with same on Sessel. Cover should last a good while longer at least above Sessel.
Down in the Tal, the hills were alive with the sound of Wasserfallen - mainly the big three over on the snoqualmie mtn side.

I don't think mein Deutsch has gotten such a workout since the last time I was in Germany (uh, two weeks ago). Danke for the colorful report; I may try to head up Alpental again before the snow gets too thin.
