Headed up to Alpental Friday morning for a little mucking around. Still some amazing coverage for the middle on June. Skinned up towards Lower International and then up towards the cliffs and into the trees near shot six. There was some obvious slide activity below the cliffs on lower international, presumably from new snow earlier in the week. I also had some problems skinning up on steeper slopes because it seemed as though the snow didn't melt the night before and so I had problems with the top layer of snow supporting my weight without sliding out from under me (although it didn't propagate).

I was there yesterday, the 14th for some fun in the sun. Skiing was pretty good on slushy new snow over a firm base. Getting a bit lumpy at the bottom. You won't be able to ski to the car much longer.
