After a great day in the Baker slackcountry Friday, expectations were high for touring Saturday. Despite freezing fog in Bagley Basin conditions were great off the backside of the Herman Saddle.

The rain took its toll on the low elevation snow:
With serious warming forecasted, Chmny packed up and headed back to the OP. I figured a down day was in order after two days of pow, but Sam hadn't skied in a couple weeks, and successfully encouraged me to not be a big baby and ski in the rain with him today. It actually didn't rain much, and Stoneman had hands down the best breakable crust I've ever skied (seriously). No vis on the way up, but lucked out and made our way down in a little sucker hole.

Definitely a lemonade type of day, and a great way to cap off an excellent weekend of skiing in the North Cascades.

Looks like first tracks in Stoneman? Does Sam need goggles? Had any of the big faces above the Stoneman runout slid?

I saw your tracks in Stoneman when I left the lodge Sunday afternoon at 3 or so and I was more than just a little bit jealous.

Yes. Yes (must be an East coast thing...or his goggles were fogged up). No.
