Went tromping around hoping to find some soft snow today. Had nice blue bird, but total boiler condiditons.
The standard weather reports were playing tricks on me with the high temps at the end of the week. It did not warm up enough to soften anything today. Be careful on that firm snow...we had a couple close calls today trying to traverse steep faces that were bullet proof.
If you're looking to hit any peaks around Crystal, I suggest sticking to shaded lines hoping to find old snow that has blown in and stayed cold...there are some pockets, but they are scarse.

I think you deserve some kind of courage award... pack your crampons and ice axe. We need a couple of real big dumps.
