Brenda and I, being gluttons for punishment and telemetry deniers, headed up to look for remains of last weeks few inches of new. We climbed up to the bottom of Castle bowl and found nothing but boiler plate and proceeded no further. Hard to even skin without slipping and busting one's ass. Windy as hell up there. The glades below among the trees were pretty good though, and we were able to get a few decent turns. We decided to head over to check out the east bowl of Plummer and found much the same. We started up into the bowl but found nasty crust, so turned around and skied down the opening to Tatoosh Creek. More crust, but turns were made. Brush on the slope and water in the creek was still not covered. We passed up Narada Face, as it looked nasty.
Pretty much anything in the open or under a tree is pretty lousy. We dug a quick pit below plummer and found about 10" strong layer on top of about 1" of nothing.

Brenda and Jeanette's drive and determination is duly noted! Any more details about your quick pit would be appreciated. Drinks are on me the next time we ski.

really not a lot of details to be found. Crust over 10" of dense, strong slab over 1/2" to an inch of very weak sugary, sitting on top of very thick crust, which I didn't spend much time trying to break through.
Skied the Tatoosh yesterday Feb1 near north face of Foss Peak. Ice Glaze, breakable crust and some windblown.
You could get a few decent turns in if you followed the trail of pine needles down the bowl which seemed to show where the windblown was. Narada Face actually skied OK yesterday if your standards are low like mine are at the moment.
