Fresh snow on the Thumbtack patch!

What a soul-filling trip up to the Thumbtack snowpatch in the Chair Peak basin today with my good friend and TAY buddy Aaron for TAY 95 and 73!

Having decided not to head up to Pebble Creek for the day, our expectations were low...but as we drove out and hiked in, we got more and more excited. The humble snowpatch exceeded expectations with a whopping 9" of fresh at the top! 

We did three laps (it was so sticky/our bases so dry we basically skinned up without skins) and it was glorious.

Amazing views as the weather was much better than expected. Wet trail but no real wet precip came down. 

Woo winter!! The pow is coming!
