First turns

Hiked up the chair 6 section of the resort since it was not going to be open for some days and found a nice solo skin track to follow in a very nice fresh snowfall on a base of two feet beneath.   I didn't even have to break trail.  It wasn't the backcountry which was just below me on the left, but with no tracks and no other tourers it sure seemed like it.   The snow was stellar and I skied open faces with fluff up to my shins on a variety of pitches that took me back to the high camp lodge for lunch and a break.   It was the second day that the resort was open and it was odd that there were so few people up to ski on the holiday week.   I felt lucky in a White Pass kind of way.
