Met up with JimJar this morning for some BC turns!  Initially, we were looking to set out for Pick Handle, however decided to head toward the East Peak vicinity.  This was my first trip into the back country on my split board.

The Pow Gods were generous enough to deliver a modest amount of goods throughout the week and relatively low temps preserved what was offered from the skies.   The weather was very cooperative, and with a nicely laid skin track before us, the skinning learning-curve was slightly softened...

We ascended up toward East Peak.  Grasping the art of kick-turns was quite difficult for me during the early part of the day and a bit of a skinning reality check,  so we stuck to the beaten path for a mellow tour.  The snow quality was nice; dry and light early in the day.  We didn't see any signs of slab releases anywhere, only mild sloughing.  Continuing along the established skin track, we took in the beautiful scenery, visibility was excellent, and the winds were about a baby's breath.  Jimjar pointed out Bullion Basin, and since stability was decent, we elected to take our journey in that direction.

We made it atop of Bullion. We strapped in, and made one run through what seemed to be about a foot of pure fresh goodness.  The first run down was far too tasty to call it a day!  Despite the new found pains of newbiehood that is the hip-flexors, another ascent was in order, revitalized by the BC-stoke running through my blood stream!  The lower dorsomis will heal later... ;D

Quick tear down to dual mode, and we were on our way back up.  The journey was another stroll through newbiehood; attempting to balance on steep ascents sort of reminded me of Tucker from €œThere's Something About Mary.€  Nonetheless, the shear greatness of beauty of the surroundings was the pacifier that corked a few f-bombs from being released into the air, a few that is...

Second run down- EPIC!  A great day in history!

Thanks to JimJar for the veteran guidance, and advice on this newbies first trek!  Hope to be back out again soon!
That is one beautiful picture Link!  Nice report, got my blood pumping!  Thanks!

Thanks, Rusty!  That one is getting blown-up, framed, and put on the wall!  It's amazing what digital cameras can capture!
