Much more wind than forecast probably keep the snow cooler than we hoped, but we did find good corn skiing on a solid base 11AM-2PM between 3000-4000' on open south facing slopes.  Others told us of reasonable old powder on north slopes 4500-5500', bulletproof icy stuff on west slopes, and hard firn on south slopes above 4500'.   Hope this extra data assists your decision making process for tomorrow's touring, without revealing anyone's top secrets.
Thanks, Silas.

What a difference a day makes, today without wind the SW to SE slopes were all great corn skiing (at least up to 5600')  Made up for yesterday's disappointment, tho it was pretty nice corn for February, too.

Stepped "around the corner" on Sunday into the Silver Peak basin after topping out Ollalie meadows on nordic gear.  Of course the coverage is awesome.  I was sort of "plane-ing" on the crust for a comical descent, trying to find occasional patches of sun-softened surface for hang-on snowplow turns.  It's going to be tough if it gets super-cold without any fresh.
