Headed up to Colchuck Glacier with Doug and Ethan on Sunday. The conditions were, as I quote myself, "FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!!!".
The snow all the way down the ~2500 vf run was amazingly consistent powder, and super-stable. By far the best run I've taken in WA this year.
One of the other two skiers we saw up there was para-skiing, and ended up flying over our heads for a graceful landing on the lake. For how bad-ass that looked, I'm still not convinced it was worth passing up the freshie-fresh pow! Didn't catch any names as they were buzzing past, but maybe they'll chime in if they happen upon this TR.

Awesome!!! Conditons look like they are getting better and better.
I think I met that say paraglider guy up there last May. He was not able to fly that day due to winds. Where did he end up landing?

The winds were basically non-existent, which I'm guessing is a good situation for flying. He took off about half-way up the glacier, and touched down gracefully on the lake, about 100 yards from shore.
Here's a pic of his approach:
Cool images! Looking pretty sweet up there.
Nice Nick.
He ain't lying, the snow was extremely consistent for all the vert - never too heavy, never grabby - although I think we could all agree that it was the best for the first 100' right off the top of the col.
It was tempting to just head back up and do it again - it would definitively be worth it for someone who was there a couple days.
Oh yeah, stop the glop. Bring something to minimize it. If Ethan didn't have some of his stuff I don't think I would've made it to the top it was so bad.
