so i make the trip down to rainier. head on up to paradise, strap every thing to my back and start walking.
i knew that some stormy stuff was supposed to happen tonight and i also knew that i'd be doing lots of walking. we get great views of volcanoes to the south w/their little cloud caps .some cool pics as clouds start pouring over the summit of the big R and above panorama we get to take some bulk off our backs and start skinning
only had to take em off once to cross some rocks for about 4-5 meters and it was happy skinning all the way to camp muir lots of crusty spots(shoulda brought ski crampons) but i needed to make some turns.
climbed into the hut for about 10 mins futsing w/ skins
gloves crap like that. back outside the light went flat and the little cloud decided to unload (yes for the love of god it was snowing) we fought the crust for about 2000ft
found a couple spots of nice wind pockets full o soft stuff
and walked back down to the car(did i mention it was snowing) all in all it was fun to be out playin w/ the hill
what i'm really trying to say is IT WAS SNOWING!!!!!
HARD!!!
Here it comes!
