YoYo and I toured south from Crystal base, the Quicksilver groomer was very firm and in the steepest portion icy enough for me to move off the edge of the grooomer to get better grip. Once past the signs at the top of the old Quicksilver run the depth of the "Dust" improved to some like an inch and a half. Finding better weather than expected, we climbed to the ridge crest and briefly considered skinning along the ridge to the top of the King, before clouds rolled moved in an sat on the King's head. So we skied on variable "Dust on Crust" down to upper Crystal Lake -- some of the time the crust was firm and other times it was "trappy" enough to require a hop to start the next turn. After climbing back to the ridge, we found firmer crust above timberline. Once getting in the trees the thickness of the Dust improved and the crust became fully supportive -- enjoyable turns down to the flats. Once we got back to Quicksilver, it started snowing pretty hard and we found the groomer mostly empty and enjoyable skiing. YoYo lived up to her nickname, so we skinned back up to the top of the old run and enjoyed a few more turns on the now empty groomer slope.
