I left fairly early up snowlake trail, there were a few new inches over old snowshoe and skin tracks. I followed the trail past a few of the larger clearings before breaking off in a more vertical direction. It was work breaking trail, but not as bad as i had expected. As I neared the gully I intended to ski I found a near freeway of skintracks, either from a large party, or one who had yo-yo skied the area yesterday. That trail really sped things up for me, and though they had skied the gully I was after, it gave me one more check on the positive side of the list for decent snowpack stability. I stopped around 5k around where that part of the mtn platos, theirs kept going to farm a little more vert. Just before plato my pole could push through a couple of crusts. On the ski down I cut across the tops of a steep bench and a knoll and nothing gave but the top few inches that sloughed. Thanks for the track, it saved me some time and you left me plenty of snow to enjoy. Today had some of the best snow I have skied in a month or more.
