This is mostly a post to solicit a skiing partner who knows the Missoula bc for this this fri-Sun and next weekend willing to take a UW med student/avid splitboarder out and about (I promise to refrain from the worlds dude, bro, brah, sick, gnar, ect.)  This AM I headed south of missoula to the town of Florance and then took the Bass Creek Road to the West until I came to a trailhead.  I skinned up the trail for roughly 2 hours until I hit an opening which appeared to be the apron at the base of a long south facing coulior.  I proceed to boot up said coulior and noticed a peak to the west that I assumed was St. Josephs Peak.  The Coulior itself was pretty much one inch of dust on death crust with some interesting avy balls and glare ice patches hidden under the surface.  Elevation did not seem to help as the conditions were similar at the top (8300 ft) and bottom (6200 ft or so).  The best snow was actually on the apron where the terrain was less steep. Of note, from the top of the coulior one could drop the north side into a large bowl with had much nicer snow (5-6 inches of good pow).  The ski back down the Coulior and to the car was thankfully uneventful but if anyone is willing to share some local knowledge I am willing to buy the beer/gas/dinner so if I do rack myself at some point when I'm out here at least it will be on film.  Cheers.
PS. I would have included pictures but my computer is not behaving.
My buddy Dan lives in Bozeman, but I'm sure him or a few of our ski partners would know it.  I'll tell him to jump online and reply to your post.
