57 MPH to account for standard deviation.

But of course my point was that I could drive much faster but choose not to because the cost and hassle of a ticket far outweighs the minimal amount of time saved.

I disagree.  When averaged over the course of the year 10mph over saves a great deal of time even assuming you get 1 or 2 tickets.  How much is your time worth?

Well in this thread it = 11/12=91.66% so that seems about right when you consider TAYers a subset of all drivers and their inherent propensity for self regard.

Scotsman,  I never stated that I am an above average driver.  However I do believe the WSP provides a net drain on society.

CM, Awesome!

Keith you can drive what you want.
This is my tenth year Full time living in Greenwater.
There are very few days when I don't see WSP driving up or down 410. For the most part I drive 60 mph in the 55. 40 in the 35 and they don't even hit their brake lights. I vary the speed if conditions merit a safer driving speed or traffic.
There was this one time 6 years ago I was late for a meeting and I wanted to step it up a little on my way down to Enumclaw. Three of us got pulled over at the same time. The WSP gave the two behind me tickets and as the others left the scene. He comes up to my car and hands me a warning and said, you should know better. So don't think that they are not aware of the locals.

I'm not into the police policing me. But I do have a right to drive on the road at the speed limit and no amount of bullying or displays of impatience by skiers behind me is going to change that. Nor do I wish to pull over and then reenter the highway (a potentially dangerous move) only to meet up with the same people down the road. Almost every time I go to Crystal I deal with this. I have seen people doing crazy and very dangerous things on 410.

Totally agreed Keith. Being from Iowa, we learn how to drive in the snow before puberty. We also know that we don't need to be angry behind the wheel because we can wait until everybody is safely parked at the parking lot...then ram my $3 thrift store ski pole through the pancreas of the perp. ;D

Never said you said you did or didn't.... maybe you were the 12th man? It's like the bullets they give a firing squad... one's always blank.... so that person can feel good about themselves.
However I agree with you about WSP and about the value of time. Also a good lawyer specializing in speeding tickets will get you off nearly all the time and I'd rather give my money to a lawyer than the state( small business support)

BTW ^^^^^ I hate this guy but it was the only pancreas song I could find and interestingly enough came from his album that was a take-off of the NWA album Straight Outta Compton which ties nicely back to CM's NWA song...

Let me see if I have this correct, my motorhome weighs 20,000#, is nearly 40' long and I'm farsighted and slow to react. Invariably when I depart Crystal some sensible person in an eco box/ cute ute with save the whales stickers blows past me, then slows to 10 under to be safe and conserve fuel. Should I return the favor and blow past them ? Is merely the sight of me 3 feet from their bumper enough to speed them up or at least stress them out ? Rarely have blaring horns and flashing lights helped the situation. Would a simple love tap be more appropriate. I really am trying to do the right thing. After all I too am being eco green and NOT commuting on a daily basis to save wear and tear and gas etc ( I try for 4-8 day visits in the interest of supporting Mr Kircher's small business ) I am really trying to grasp the subtle nuances of skin track etiquette, ski track appreciation and now road rules are at the fore front, I do believe I am overwrought and under dressed for the occasion. Most people say they are good drivers, but I REALLY am a good driver. On a side note: when approaching doggie doo in the ski track should one start a new track around the object to show due respect or would it be appropriate to pick it up and save to hurl at the next folks who blow past on said track ?
