wow that is really interesting. Espcially how even in the same row some cars will slide and others wont. like the pick up by the minivan not moving nor does that outback (think thats what it is) Funny to watch thats for sure and ill be sure to not be wondering why the heck the guy behind me parked so close next time

A buddy of mine experienced this on a somewhat steeper lot than Paradise. He found that his truck slid when the parking brake was engaged (two wheels stationary) and not when he was in 4wd and he left it in gear. That would explain why the one Scooby slid (parking brake only) and the other didn't (in gear).
Also, keep in mind the potential of the tires to absorb the sunlight, getting slightly hotter and boosting the melting directly underneath.
Keep me in mind for that PRL... or maybe AIR is more our speed, eh?

One other observation. I may have missed this already mentioned in the thread, but I would be willing to bet that the vehicles that did not move at all probably had studded tires. Notice the white pickup and other white car in that same row do not move at all.
