Anyone have any simple meals that they really like for longer trips? I'm mostly focused on calories and how easy they are to prepare, but flavor and nutrition are important too. .

I've found some useful links, but was curious if the TAY collective had anything further.

Two resources I stumbled across already:

Dehydrated potatoes (I use the ones with garlic from Backpackers pantry)
Degydrated green beans
Spicy Landjaeger choped up, it is cured so it doesn't need refrigeration. Or any cured spicy meat will do it.

All mixed up in 1 bag, nosh that down & you're laughing, follow it with a baybell and a bit of brandy & if you can find a spare gram for some dark chocolate) you've just had proppa dinna.

I've been eating that now for a year or 2, doesn't get too boring.

Also. Mountain High: Himalayan lentils & rice is pretty good, I often eat that stuff cold for lunch.

You guys should really consider carrying about 60 quarter-pounders with cheese, as they meet your criteria better than most of that pretentious freeze-dried skier-caviar. Also, meth.

Ramen noodles, then add instant potatoes and dehydrated onions to thicken/soak up the broth once the noodles are cooked. Chopped up salami and cheese for bonus goodness.
