Diamir Vipek: any early adopters out there?

So there's a new Tech binding out there now ... from a company you might not have expected to be jumping into the Tech-binding world.

Costs no more than Plum or the higher end Dynafit techs. And having a measurable toe release while in tour sure sounds like a plus feature if ever one were caught in avy while skinning up.
Does anyone have these yet? Any first impressions? (The official NA release date was supposed to be today but I know we have Euro sympathizers and other insiders on TAY that may have gotten a jump on things.)

We were at Pro Ski in North Bend on Sunday and got to look at and ooh and ah at this. The guys there said they were not aware of anyone who has skied it enough to give any meaningful feedback, still too new.

Cool. Maybe the added competition will result in lower pricing, so stingy dirtbags like me can finally spring for a set of tech bindings.

Other side of the coin - is there a higher chance of coming out of your binding while climbing a steep/icy traverse when you're just on the edge of your ski?
