In the past Washington and Oregon Sno-Park passes have been reciprocal.

From the Gifford Pinchot NF web site...

As of Dec. 1, Washington State Sno-Park passes are required at all Sno-Parks. Oregon, Idaho and Washington Sno-Park Passes are no longer reciprocal; meaning all Washington Sno-Parks must have a Sno-Park pass.

Gifford Pinchot winter update

This is most likely only a  concern for Oregonians making the trip up to the Marble Mount Sno-Park this year. I'm not sure what Oregon's policy is on out of state sno-park passes.

Heard about this early this year.

Oregon
Sno-Park permits issued by California and Idaho are honored in Oregon. California and Idaho also honor Oregon's sno-park permits.

Washington
Washington Sno-Park permits are no longer accepted in California, Oregon and Idaho.
www.parks.wa.gov/winter/nonmotorparks/permits/

Per contacting WA Olympia regional office regarding this, I was informed "Wa provides a higher level of service than OR, ID or CA so it was decided to eliminate the reciprocity agreement."

WA Snow Park permits are pricey--but not as pricey as the ticket you will get if you do not have one--you won't be able to re-register your vehicle unless you pay it (ca. $135). Annual permits are $40, daily are $20, so it pays to buy the annual. I liked the reciprocity between OR and WA because with my WA permit I could park in the Timberline parking lot on Mt. Hood; no more.

Well actually parking at some sno-parks requires 3 permits:
WA sno-park $40/yr
WA sno-park groomed trails sticker $40/yr
WA discovery pass $30/yr

That's along with a NW forest pass ($30/yr) or national park pass ($80/yr) if you use those areas.  Not to mention individual climbing fees if you want to go up rainier or adams or helens, or backcountry camping permits if you want to use the Olympics or several other areas...

But luckily it's a very clear and easy to understand system that encourages public support.

I now have the senior pass for Nat parks etc.  ($10 for Life..VERY COOL),  however, to park at Paradise (if I should arrive with the gate open i.e...) do I still need a sno-park pass?  Can't remember what a tayer told me a few years ago..sorry.
