I feel like there is more to the OP...

Im a big believer in the first two most of the time, not sure what the last one means...

Never count on a timely opening (or moving quickly to any opening) of the road to Paradise.

oh, and a corollary: never buy big, fat powder skis if you ski mostly at Paradise and White Pass--you'll never get a chance to use them in "powder".

Never look gift snowshoers in the mouth  (today again )

If they are breaking trail in front of you in 16 " fresh on Smith brook road

Never try and ski as much as Silas, you'll just trash your knee out .

Never make your whole retirement plan to ski at Paradise all the time.
