Jeff - WSDOT as of yesterday (12/26) says the road is plowed to milepost 171 at the silverstar gate, are you sure they are done plowing that far for the year, and will leave it at 178? I'm planning a trip up there in a few days and was wondering if its worth heading that ways without a sled.

Jeff, what is this.. other than a link to your ncmountain website.
Lets be honest, Early Winters to Silverstar Creek is like 3+ miles.. a game changer without a sno-mobile.
This snow info can be sussed out via NWAC.
how-about keep'in commercial to commercial websites. Pat

Not sure why the DOT says Silverstar Gate. It was definitely closed at Early Winters campground last time I checked and I doubt they would reopen it. The lower elevation skiing is pretty good right now but the options are a little limited. If you have the option to bring a sled with you I would bring it.
