Ski routes in the Blues

Looks like I'm probably headed over to Pullman a couple times this winter. Anyone have suggestions where to ski down in the Blues? Is Bluewood still operating?

Bluewood still runs but hasn't opened for the season yet. Not sure if they allow touring at the site of the old North-South Ski Bowl in Idaho, used to be run by ASWSU.

Don't forget the mighty Spout Springs, a fun old school hometown ski hill. If you have not been there it is something to be done.

Bluewood is fun if you're in the area. If you're looking to tour there is some decent skiing in the drainage just to the east of Bluewood. Park at the snowmobile parking and follow the snomo road until you see something that looks fun to ski.

Spoutsprings/Tollgate pass also has some fun skiing. Skiing up and over the backside of spout can provide some good turns. Also, skiing down into Umatilla Canyon (off Tollgate pass) from the road and up the opposite north facing slope is a good tour.

Not sure how deep the snowpack is yet, if its still pretty shallow I'd go near Bluewood.

We used to tour up the ridge, around the fire tower, and beyond. I cut some of my first tele turns at Spout Springs...

...back in the 80's!

Not the Blues, but there is decent touring near Elk River, ID. Hurricane Divide I believe. It's been years.
