Back in '94 I hit some rocks hard with a snowboard directly in between the feet pushing the edge into the board and splitting the wood. I cut out about 1" of edge, used marine epoxy and then jb weld on the outer section and it held up for at least 3 years. This was a little more then an edge ding but it did work for me.

I use JB weld for all repair of core shots and edge damage. Cut out all the loose, pulled up base, sand and clean the area. If the edge is pulled out I use blocks of wood in the vise to clamp it. build it up. This stuff sands well. It works great. It is up there with duct tape in my shop for great fixes.

+1 it works great for repairs, but it can wear off from friction with the snow (thinking more dirty spring snow here), so keep an eye on your repair

- is the marine epoxy different from standard surfboard resin ? (& don't forget the electrical tape, too)

Oh, can't leave out marine-tex. Think edge restoration is better served via JB but I've seen miracle pullout / rip-out repairs & the stuff sets hard & fast. Kind of pricey but I use it for anything I never want to think about again.
