Sprint cell service in the mountains? was created by Charlie Hagedorn
My cell phone contract has ended, and I'm looking into independent choices for a cell provider. A number of them run on the Sprint network. It seems like Verizon and Sprint have a reciprocal roaming agreement, but it's not clear if it's for data alone or for voice too.

I've stuck with Verizon solely because of superior coverage in the mountains; if it's available with other carriers, I'll look there too.

Any Sprint users get service at Paradise? In crenulated terrain at Snoqualmie/Stevens? Baker? North Cascade summits near civilization?

Thanks!

don't get sprint. i simply use it for the nextel/ job requirement write off factor. but i shut it off when i leave the I 5 corridor. it will work occasionally at the passes, but don't rely on it when your effed up somewhere in the bc waiting for the helicopter.

Ya, I had AT&T and had not he greatest but decent service in some passes. I switched to sprint and its way worse. Verizon usually gets the best service everywhere, but I can't testify about up here as I'm still pretty new to the area

I have Sprint (hard to pass on the unlimited data plan) and the coverage wasn't great on my recent trip to Baker. On the flip side, Sprint roams on the Verizon network for no charge.

This is what I'm trying to wrap my head around - shouldn't your (voice) coverage have therefore been equally good as that of Verizon?
