What do TAYers have to say about uncertainty and desire?
How do you react when uncertainty and desire are moderate?
How do you react when uncertainty and desire are high?
What do you think happens when uncertainty and desire are high?
How does this affect your decisions?

LOL. No brownies.
Framing the issues too much will bias the discussion, but I'm talking about something along the lines of: you want to ski something, but maybe you're uncertain about stability. How do you react? How does the mix of desire and uncertainty roll around in your head?

I don't find many situations where uncertainty and desire are both high. The higher the uncertainty the lower my desire usually. If the uncertainty is related to an objective danger that puts a damper on my desire. Then I am in a situation where I don't know the risk and I am not too keen on finding out. If the uncertainty is my skill, whether I can ski it or hit it, and my desire is high I am more likely to push ahead.

WA pass yesterday.
My uncertainty was high, my desire was high.
My desire overode my uncertainty to the extent I was justifying indications of snowpack depth and potential conditions to rationalize my decision before committing to 10 hr drive.
Heuristic trap.....CAUGHT!!!
Lesson : If I ski that slope it will be soooooo good. I know avy conditions are reportedly bad but I know better and its a beautiful day and it will be soooo worth it and I'll get to brag about getting it so good....It'll be worth it ... I'm dropping in......
