Lee Adams was also a very fine and enthusiastic skier, and taught for many years for The Summit telemark programs sponsored by the Washington Alpine Club, and the Mountaineers. It was easy to see his students liked and admired him, and that his fellow instructors liked and respected him. I didn't know Lee well, but, boy, he always had an easy smile, was full of life and loved being in the mountains. He was very much a part of this "tribe", and he will be missed.    If anyone here knows, in the next few days ahead, could you please post any info about a possible local service or celebration of Lee's life? -thanks.   Best wishes to his closest friends and family.     Dave Cumming

My condolences to Lee's family and friends.
He sounded like he had a great spirit about him.
The article in the SEATTLE TIMES talks a little more about him than the PI article. But both are good reads. I never knew him, but just reading about Lee inspires me to be a little more enthusiastic about life.

I had the honor to know Lee and join him on a few trips over the years. He was a great skier and could absolutely motor on the uphill. But he was also a lot of fun to hang out with and always had great stories from previous adventures. He'll definitely be missed by a lot of folks in the community.

He was a great teacher and I picked up many ski tips from him over the years. He'd learned on the icy slopes of Maine and could ski anything in good style. Here he is skiing the SW chutes on Mount Adams in mid-July '06:

pic of Lee getting ready to drop a couloir on the SE side of Big Snagtooth.... he was always game for any goofy traverse...always kicked my ass on the uphill and had way more style than me on the downhill.
