TAY SKI SWAP????? was created by Scotsman
Seems there's a lot of used gear for sale on this website.
Maybe somebody should arrange a venue where everybody could show up with their gear and try stuff on and bargain with each other.
Meet at such and such park'n ride at such and such a time.
Advertise on craigslist, TAY, TGR etc.
Probably stupid idea but I got lots of them!

Sounds like a good idea to me...
Perhaps one of the TAY sponsors would be interested in hosting?
Considering the time of year it is, and the type of weather that is prone, an indoor/covered venue would be nice.

Good idea. The Kayak Academy had something similar last month when they had their end of the year sale and invited every one to come and sell there stuff too. It was like an informal party/flea market with demos on how to repair boats, swapping adventure stories, making new friends and buying/getting rid of gear. I must admit that I bought more than I sold (I think that was the point), but it was still fun.
If someone provided a venue there could be demos on how to mount bindings, wax skis etc and people could sell there used stuff too.
Just a thought......

The Mountaineers/Snoqualmie Nordic
ski swap
appears to be:
Date: Friday Dec 4, 2009
Time: 6:00-9:00 PM
Location: St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 111 NE 80th St, Seattle (Greenlake area), 1 block west of I-5/NE 80th Exit
They charge a 15% commission on sales that's donated to the clubs. When I went a couple years ago, they had a litany of nordic gear, a pretty sizeable selection of older tele gear, some alpine stuff, and a few AT rigs/boots. I imagine the AT selection will have increased somewhat since then. Definitely the most backcountry-oriented swap I've yet encountered in the area.
