Dynafit repair kit? was created by Big Hurt Bob
After 10 years of skiing on Silveretta 400's I have never given them a second thought. I just switched to Dynafits and they look, well, rather delicate with many plastic pieces. This got me thinking that maybe I should augment my repair kit. So here is my question to Dynafit owner: what do you carry in your repair/tool kit in case of a broken binding? Are you even concerned with this? Am I needlessly worrying?

None of the folks I ski with carry much in the way of Dyna repair gear. The only thing we've ever had to do is use voile straps to hold the heel of the boot down to the heel unit, but that was a boot failure, not a binding problem...

For longer trips (hut trips, mostly) we've brought along spare heel and toe units, but never had to use them.

This tantamount to blasmphemy! Dynfiddlies don't malfunction or break, it's the user that isn't using them right. ;)

I never leave home without duct tape ( wrapped around my touring poles which also gives a nice hand support for the uphill hand on traverses plus an extra wad in my pack). I also carry the straps that Marcus mentioned and a small leatherman type multi-tool. On longer tours I will carry baling wire!

On trips longer than a week or overnihters with a big group of skiers, I carry a spare dynafit toe piece...I figure that if the heel piece was to break, I could still shuffle along with just being attached at the toe, so theres no need to carry a whole binding in the repair kit.
Five or six years ago dynafit came out with that ill-fated Tri-Step binding which had a slighly different toe piece....I got sick of them and replaced them with the tried and true dynafit toe pieces straight from the company for cheap and kept the Tri-Steps as a emergency kit binding. So far I've never had any breakage...

I've seen the heel hardware on Dynafit boots break more often than the bindings (screw falls out, and the hole in the boot is stripped or the plastic cracks) so I think its pretty important to carry spare dynafit boot heel hardware and epoxy or at the very least a bunch of voile straps to lash your boot to the ski if needed.

Like others mentioned, I carried a spare toe piece for years before I succumed to the futility of carrying it and took it out of my repair kit.
They just don't seem to wear out or break.

I carry duct tape and some plastic zip ties. Of course I've only used them on other peoples bindings  ;)

Before long trips I check to make sure screws are tight, and that it....
