Does anyone have any info about these huts and the ski terrain in the area. It looks like a lot of cross country trails, but their website is not very detailed about backcountry skiing.
Any info would be great!

Hi Dan,
Two big ski thumbs up on Rendezvous huts... if they have enough snow. I have a friend just returned from Methow valley, and reported that as of Saturday (12-27) it's still too thin for back country. It may be different (meaning better) soon.
We spent two nights there last January. We stuck mostly to the groomed trails, but there are LOTS of skiable terrain around the cabins. I did a nice ridge climb and ski behind Grizzly Hut, but the one that looked fabulous was Cassal Hut. It's a long way in, but the family special includes a gear haul of up to 300 lbs, so you can pretty much take all your riding gear plus the kitchen sink. And this year dogs are allowed on all trails. Good news for your puppy.
Last I checked, the rates haven't changed from last year. I also heard that they have had lots of cancellations due to low snowpack in December, so you might get lucky and get a good weekend or midweek package.

Thanks Don! The forecast looks pretty good for snowfall, so maybe it will be a good time to go soon.

Agreed. Skied there last February. Lines on Rendezvous were fun at sunset down to the huts too. Plenty of aspects to choose from. Snowshoers even avoided my day old skintrack!

A few of us are heading up to Cassal hut this weekend. Based on the low snowpack down low around Seattle, I am guessing I should just stick with skinny skis. Have any of you been up in the area recently? Any chance the basin above the hut would have enough snow to warrant hauling in the backcountry skis?
Thanks!!
