snow & wind & rain

So here I am, anxiously awaiting this big snowfall, checking the NWAC weather readout for Paradise only to notice .... snow sensor turned off for the summer ... wind sensor turned off 8 October ... looks like whole site went down too ... most cameras not working on the park website ... oh well (sigh)

You need to take one for the team and drive up there and give us a full " in person" report.

Drove up today & hiked from 4th crossing-Mazama Ridge-Golden Gate-Edith Basin; beautiful day, all the trees trimmed with white, with all the fall colors gleaming, nicely offset by skiffs of snow. could see paradise glacier well, barely covered with new snow, little heavier skiff on Tatoosh but still easily seen thru; as far as I could see, not much of a snowfall, and what fell was rapidly disappearing on the southern slopes.
