Thanks, juan. That "forest" of metal is just north of EMP, but not part of it, I think. I should look and see what it is titled one of these times. In addition to interesting art, I think it is supposed to be a barrier between a parking lot and sidewalk. It looks very different from different angles and with different light conditions.

The camera is a Canon A620, replaced by the A630, replaced by? It's just a compact "point-and-shoot" but gives control over everything related to taking photos. 7MP gives plenty of pixels to do some cropping and still have a lot left in the photo. I got it because the optics were supposed to be very good, and they seem to be, and it is very efficient with batteries.
