Except I thought La Nina was supposed to bring warm water to the western Pacific. That Accuweather site showed a cool spot. Any climate gurus know what's going on?

El Nino/La Nina Definition
It's all about departures from normal. The anomalies are typically linked to seasonal upwelling of cold water from deep in the ocean. These upwellings are products of ocean currents and their strength and location.
Here is a link to the NWAC spring newsletter that contains an article about El Nino/La Nina and shows a graph of the last 50 years and whether each winter was a strong or moderate El Nino/La Nina or neutral (normal).
