I don't know if you are implying the data is bad, but I don't think it is. It's been steadily rising over the past few weeks, with the exception of occasional 377 readings.

I'm sure the Chinook Pass data is valid. I think that 377" is just the height of the snowdepth gauge, so it occasionally displays that value when the ultrasonic sensor collects some snow on it which blocks the beam.

As far as I know, Chinook Pass is the first official measurement site in North America to reach 200" of snowdepth this season, and it holds a commanding lead of about 40" over its nearest rivals, Paradise and Timberline. (I know Mt Hood Meadows is claiming a snow depth of 18 ft at mid-mtn, and Kirkwood has been reporting over 200" at its upper station for 2 weeks, but those numbers are unofficial and often highly suspect.) Barring a lengthy data outage (which it is often plagued by), Chinook Pass is now the clear favorite to be this season's snowdepth leader among Cascade measurement sites, a title held by Lassen Peak for the past 3 straight seasons. If the ongoing wet weather pattern continues through February and March, Chinook Pass is likely to break 250" this season and even has an outside chance of hitting 300".

My post was tongue-in-cheek, I didn't mean to imply the data was bad. Thanks for posting this - that's not one of the telemetry stations I check and I hadn't realized the snow was that deep there!
