Synopsis of my Washington ski history book was created by Lowell_Skoog
Many TAY readers know that I've been doing research for a book on Washington ski history for several years.  I'm finally shifting my efforts to writing.  I've prepared a synopsis of my proposed book, which I've shown to a few publishers and reviewers.  In keeping with my open research philosophy, I've decided to publish the synopsis on my project website:<br><br> www.alpenglow.org/ski-history/book/synopsis.html

Publishing my notes on the web has yielded many benefits.  I hope publishing my synopsis will generate comments or tips that make the book better.  I'm starting a new contracting job, and I expect the book project to be stalled for several months.  Publishing the synopsis is a satisfying milestone.

I'd like to thank Harry Majors, Mark Harfenist, and John Mauro for previously reviewing this synopsis.  I welcome comments and suggestions on it from TAY readers.

Lowell, congratulations on publishing the synopsis of your Washington ski history book, it's very exciting :D. It certainly shows how much time and effort you have put in preserving the history of our Northwest skiing, thank-you for that. As you say, "It is a story written in the snows". Your book will certainly share with many, the lives and stories that would have otherwise been forgotten. Good luck with your new contracting job, I'll look forward to seeing your book in print.<br><br>Jeanette

Knowing our heritage is inspiring. The scope of what you show in your layout really speaks to the efforts you have gone too in order to dust off what would otherwise be forgotten.

Thanks for sharing your synopsis, Lowell - reading the summary of each chapter has me wanting to read on to the end; I hope it results in some bites from publishers. Tell them I'm waiting to buy a copy!

Lowell. <br>Thanks so much for sharing this (and the countless other historical accounts). Snow and skiing run in my blood, but not nearly to the depths of the accounts you lay for us all here. I find your title and last chapter title a nice connection to the fact that the global climate story is written in the ice. I've heard Gretel Ehrlich, author of The Solace of Open Spaces, describe the thaw of our world's ice as "melt of the library of time". <br> A link to an article excerpt from her latest book The Future of Ice <br>Hope your tales will be in many libraries to come. <br>Jessica
